Apex Aero Dynamics is a leader in aircraft component manufacturing, and we are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity in Wichita, KS. We are looking for a visionary engineer to drive innovation in our next-generation propulsion systems.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex theoretical concepts and practical manufacturing solutions. You will work in a state-of-the-art facility, collaborating with a team of seasoned professionals to deliver high-quality aerospace products.
Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and detailed drafting of high-performance aircraft components using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Perform advanced finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to ensure structural integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, to resolve technical issues.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including GD&T drawings and Bill of Materials.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and drafters.
- Implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design within the aerospace or manufacturing sector.
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, ANSYS, or similar CAD/CAE software.
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, and AS9100 standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines in a direct-hire environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
