Responsibilities
- Architect and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to design error-corrected qubit systems
- Develop machine learning frameworks for quantum data analysis
- Lead open-source quantum computing projects and publish in Nature/Science journals
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum physics and computational theory
- Secure federal grants and partnerships with NASA/DOE quantum initiatives
- Present breakthrough findings at IEEE Quantum Week and Davos Tech Summits
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Computational Mathematics (Master's + 5yrs experience considered)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or topological qubit systems
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with quantum SDKs (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Experience with quantum annealing or superconducting platforms (D-Wave, Rigetti)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes (surface codes, LDPC)
- Strong track record of securing NSF/NIH quantum research grants
- Expertise in quantum machine learning and variational algorithms
