Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at IEEE/ACM conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Develop error-correction frameworks for fault-tolerant quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate algorithms into practical solutions
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (post-doc preferred)
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Demonstrated success in securing government or industry research grants
- Expertise in quantum circuit optimization and simulation techniques
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Patent portfolio in quantum computing technologies (highly desirable)
