Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental research on quantum hardware systems, including qubit manipulation and error correction
- Develop quantum simulation frameworks to validate theoretical models and predict system behaviors
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate research prototypes into scalable quantum solutions
- Publish findings in leading scientific journals and present at international conferences
- Secure and manage research grants from government agencies and private investors
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related quantum field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum computing platforms (e.g., IBM Q, Rigetti, D-Wave)
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design and quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong background in quantum information theory and quantum error correction techniques
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in quantum computing research
- Familiarity with high-performance computing environments and parallel programming
- Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government project access
