Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits on superconducting and photonic platforms
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design quantum error correction protocols
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure federal grants (NSF/DOE) and industry partnerships worth $1M+
- Mentor PhD interns and lead cross-functional R&D sprints
- Develop quantum security frameworks for post-quantum cryptography standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency with quantum circuit simulation and optimization tools
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex analysis, and information theory
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or photonic quantum processors
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding
- Collaborative mindset with history of interdisciplinary project leadership
