Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype quantum solutions in partnership with MIT, Stanford, and IBM Research
- Develop error-correction frameworks to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Author breakthrough publications in Nature/Science journals and secure patents
- Mentor PhD candidates and interns in quantum information theory
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design next-generation quantum processors
- Secure $2M+ in DoE/NSF grants for quantum computing initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry breakthroughs)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development on IBM Q or Rigetti systems
- Published work in top-tier quantum computing conferences (QIP, ACM) or journals
- Expertise in Python, Qiskit, and quantum circuit optimization
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and topological qubits
- Experience securing federal research grants or corporate R&D funding
- Portfolio of open-source quantum projects with 500+ GitHub stars
