Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for practical applications in cryptography, optimization, and machine learning
- Lead experimental research on quantum hardware systems, including superconducting qubits and ion traps
- Develop error correction protocols and quantum simulation frameworks
- Collaborate with engineering teams to prototype quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from NSF, DARPA, and industry partners
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers
- Contribute to open-source quantum computing initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and quantum circuit design
- Proven track record of publishing high-impact quantum computing research
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum simulation frameworks
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complexity classes
