Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and computer scientists
- Develop error-correction techniques to enhance qubit stability and coherence
- Collaborate with industry partners to prototype quantum solutions for real-world challenges
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure federal and private funding for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and establish quantum computing best practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in quantum algorithm development or quantum hardware
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
- Experience leading technical teams and managing research projects
- Knowledge of quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures
