Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot backend services, APIs, and databases during night shifts to ensure 99.99% uptime.
- Execute post-incident analysis and root cause analysis (RCA) for critical failures, implementing preventative measures.
- Perform scheduled deployments, patch management, and system upgrades during low-traffic windows.
- Collaborate with the day-shift team to translate overnight technical findings into actionable sprint backlog items.
- Develop and optimize automated scripts and CI/CD pipelines to reduce manual intervention.
- Ensure strict adherence to security protocols and compliance standards across all platforms.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend engineering or DevOps, with specific experience in Night Shift or rotational support roles.
- Programming: Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or C#.
- Infrastructure: Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Database: Experience managing SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems under pressure and resolve incidents quickly.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-shift collaboration.
