Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care during overnight hours, including vital sign monitoring and medication administration
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and minor surgical interventions
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate patient flow between departments and communicate critical updates to the healthcare team
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment for next-day procedures
- Respond to emergency situations with calm professionalism and execute established protocols
- Deliver patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
- Valid CPR/BLS certification with current renewal date
- Proven ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
- Expertise in EHR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds
