Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security systems 24/7 to identify and mitigate potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to ensure robust defense mechanisms.
- Manage and configure firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and encryption protocols.
- Respond to security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and lead incident response procedures.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement secure coding practices and patch management strategies.
- Develop and maintain detailed security documentation, policies, and compliance reports.
- Train staff on security awareness and best practices to reduce human error.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related field.
- Certification preferred: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols.
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM (Splunk, QRadar), Firewalls (Check Point, Palo Alto), and antivirus solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to act decisively during security breaches.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
