Role Overview:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures. You will be responsible for processing vast amounts of structured and unstructured data from ticketing, security, logistics, and fan engagement platforms.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Architecture: Design and implement robust data pipelines using cloud technologies (AWS/Azure) to handle high-volume data ingestion during the 2026 event.
- Data Modeling: Develop star and snowflake schemas to optimize data storage and retrieval for business intelligence tools.
- Real-time Analytics: Build streaming data solutions (Kafka, Spark) to provide real-time insights for stadium operations and security teams.
- Collaboration: Partner with data scientists and product managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure all data handling processes comply with GDPR and US privacy regulations.
- Optimization: Monitor pipeline performance and implement optimizations to reduce latency and cost.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on large-scale data processing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, SQL, Apache Spark, Hadoop, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Event Tech: Experience working on large-scale event logistics or sports technology projects is a significant plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel to operational sites during the event period.
