Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Develop error-corrected quantum systems operating at 99.9% fidelity
- Lead research initiatives in topological quantum computing and qubit stabilization
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and industry whitepapers
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical quantum processors
- Secure $2M+ in government/private research grants annually
- Mentor PhD candidates and lead cross-functional quantum research teams
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological computing
- Expertise in quantum annealing and superconducting qubit architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complex analysis
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and microwave control electronics
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants (NSF/DOE)
- Patent portfolio in quantum technologies (minimum 3 issued patents)
