Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype quantum applications in cryptography and machine learning
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum circuit implementations
- Develop error-correction techniques for scalable quantum systems
- Secure $5M+ in government and industry research grants
- Mentor PhD researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant systems
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design for NISQ-era hardware
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complexity theory
- Proven track record of securing competitive research funding
- Experience with quantum simulation software (Quil, QASM, or OpenFermion)
