What You'll Achieve:
Design and implement quantum algorithms for machine learning, cryptography, and optimization problems. Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and error-correction protocols. Publish high-impact research in leading journals and present at premier conferences like IEEE Quantum Week and APS March Meeting.
Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for real-world applications in finance, healthcare, and logistics
- Model and simulate quantum systems using Qiskit, Cirq, and custom frameworks
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions with classical infrastructure
- Secure research funding through NSF grants and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and PhD candidates in quantum methodologies
- Contribute to open-source quantum software initiatives
- Stay current with emerging quantum hardware architectures and error mitigation techniques
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Q#, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory
- Expertise in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing environments
- Strong track record of translating theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Experience with cloud quantum platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket)
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding or patents
