Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams in prototyping quantum applications
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
- Develop error-correction techniques for scalable quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bridge theoretical models with physical implementations
- Secure federal grants and private funding for quantum initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum engineering interns
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantum field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent journals
- Proficiency with Qiskit, Cirq, or other quantum programming frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error mitigation
- Experience with high-performance computing architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Security clearance eligibility preferred
