Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, machine learning, and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction techniques to enhance quantum processor stability
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate quantum solutions with classical computing systems
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives in quantum cryptography and secure communications
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing education programs
- Secure federal and private research grants to advance quantum innovation
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and quantum circuit design
- Proven track record of publishing high-impact quantum computing research
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics, linear algebra, and computational complexity
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ) and cryogenic systems
- Strong background in machine learning and its applications to quantum algorithms
- Ability to secure research funding and lead collaborative projects
