Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop error correction protocols to advance quantum decoherence mitigation
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype and validate quantum computing architectures
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into scalable quantum systems
- Secure and manage research grants totaling $5M+ annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of postdoctoral research
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and frameworks
- Published record in high-impact journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Proficiency in classical computing (Python, C++, HPC environments)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience securing federal or industry research grants
- Strong analytical skills with ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
