Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-correction methodologies for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Conduct cutting-edge research in quantum supremacy and hybrid quantum-classical architectures
- Develop proprietary quantum software frameworks and APIs for enterprise deployment
- Author peer-reviewed publications and contribute to open-source quantum computing initiatives
- Partner with hardware engineers to co-design quantum processors and control systems
- Secure and manage $5M+ research grants from DARPA, NSF, and private foundations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics with 5+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and quantum circuit optimization
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science journals or top-tier quantum conferences
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence, error correction, and topological qubit systems
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ) and cloud quantum services
- Strong background in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for quantum applications
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts into commercial IP and patentable innovations
