Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting and photonic qubit systems
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum architectures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate quantum research into commercial solutions
- Publish groundbreaking research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum computing curriculum development
- Secure $5M+ in government grants and industry partnerships for quantum initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years industry experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum machine learning frameworks
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Q#, Cirq) and simulation tools
- Published record in top-tier quantum computing journals/conferences
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error mitigation strategies
- Experience with cloud quantum platforms (Amazon Braket, Azure Quantum)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and statistical mechanics
- Proven ability to secure research funding through NSF/NIH/DARPA proposals
