Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum algorithm experiments on superconducting qubit systems
- Develop novel error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum processor architectures
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Lead cross-functional projects integrating quantum solutions with AI/ML frameworks
- Secure $5M+ in government and industry research grants
- Mentor PhD candidates and interns in quantum research methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in cryogenic quantum system operation and calibration
- Expertise in quantum circuit optimization and simulation tools
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research funding (NSF, DOE)
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Experience mentoring junior researchers in academic or corporate settings
