Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-corrected qubit architectures using superconducting and photonic platforms
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum processors at cryogenic temperatures
- Collaborate with AI researchers to create hybrid quantum-classical ML frameworks
- Secure $1M+ in government grants and industry partnerships for quantum initiatives
- Publish 3+ peer-reviewed papers annually in top-tier journals/conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and PhD candidates in quantum computing principles
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant computing
- Expertise in superconducting qubit fabrication and control systems
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Proven track record of securing government/industry research funding
- Experience leading technical teams of 5+ researchers
- Deep understanding of NISQ-era limitations and fault-tolerant roadmap
