Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum circuits on superconducting platforms
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives in quantum machine learning applications
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at international conferences
- Secure federal and private research grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and PhD candidates in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Quipper)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and complexity theory
- Experience with cloud-based quantum computing platforms (IBM Quantum, AWS Braket)
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding (NSF, DoE, or corporate grants)
- Strong background in high-performance computing and parallel processing
