This role is critical to our mission of building the world's first commercially viable quantum computer. You'll collaborate with MIT-affiliated researchers and industry pioneers to translate theoretical quantum mechanics into transformative real-world applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Develop quantum hardware interfaces and optimize qubit coherence times
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD-level researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure $5M+ in NSF/DARPA grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Architect quantum cloud platforms for enterprise clients
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of quantum computing research with peer-reviewed publications
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or Quipper quantum programming frameworks
- Proven experience with superconducting qubits or trapped ion systems
- Strong background in quantum information theory and topological quantum computing
- Track record of securing federal research grants
- Experience mentoring quantum research teams
