Responsibilities
- Lead research in quantum error correction and qubit stabilization for fault-tolerant systems
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms targeting 2026 computational milestones
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum processor architectures
- Publish high-impact research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Secure and manage $5M+ in research grants from NSF, DARPA, and industry partners
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Develop roadmap for achieving quantum advantage in practical applications by 2026
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithms and quantum information theory
- Published record in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research funding
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Strong background in topological quantum computing or quantum error correction
- Excellent written communication for technical documentation and grant proposals
