Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead quantum error mitigation strategies to achieve fault-tolerant computing
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and top-tier conferences
- Secure $1M+ in quantum computing grants from NSF/DoE/DARPA
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and drive open-source quantum initiatives
- Translate academic discoveries into commercial quantum applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of quantum algorithm development with peer-reviewed publications
- Expertise in quantum error correction, variational circuits, and QML frameworks
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum assembly languages (QASM)
- Proven track record of securing federal quantum research funding
- Experience with cryogenic quantum hardware integration
- Strong background in linear algebra, topology, and information theory
