Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental research on quantum error correction protocols and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design next-generation quantum processors
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at premier conferences like QIP and APS March Meeting
- Develop quantum software frameworks compatible with industry-standard platforms
- Supervise graduate research projects and mentor junior scientists
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoD grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing focus
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Publication record in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, PRL) or conferences
- Expertise in quantum information theory and many-body quantum systems
- Proficiency in classical high-performance computing (HPC) environments
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and statistical mechanics
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ) preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
