Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for NISQ-era hardware
- Lead research in quantum error mitigation and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum circuit performance
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and present at IEEE/APS conferences
- Secure $2M+ annual research grants from DARPA/NSF
- Mentor PhD researchers and manage cross-functional quantum teams
- Translate theoretical models into practical quantum applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years quantum computing research with publications in Nature/Science
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum circuit optimization
- Proven experience with superconducting or trapped-ion qubits
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Track record of securing government/industry research funding
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
