Responsibilities
- Continuous Monitoring: Oversee the health and performance of servers, firewalls, and network infrastructure using industry-standard monitoring tools.
- Incident Response: Receive and triage alerts from monitoring systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement immediate remediation to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshooting: Perform root cause analysis on network anomalies, outages, or system errors, and coordinate with day-shift engineering teams for resolution.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including runbooks, incident reports, and change logs.
- System Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance windows and patch management tasks outside of peak business hours.
- Communication: Provide clear status updates to stakeholders and management regarding system health and ongoing issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or technical support role, preferably in a 24/7 environment.
- Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or similar networking certifications are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols. Proficiency with Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments.
- Tools: Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, or Datadog.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly.
