Responsibilities
- Lead horizon scanning for emerging technologies (quantum computing, biotech fusion, AI ethics frameworks) with 3-5 year predictive modeling
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and market disruption timelines
- Champion innovation through rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept validation for breakthrough technologies
- Establish strategic partnerships with academic institutions, startups, and research labs
- Present technology investment proposals to C-suite executives with ROI and risk analysis
- Mentor R&D teams in future-proofing technical architectures and methodologies
- Produce quarterly technology trend reports for board-level decision making
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy or R&D leadership with proven track record in emerging tech adoption
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Deep expertise in at least two future-tech domains (e.g., quantum algorithms, neuromorphic computing, synthetic biology)
- Experience with technology forecasting methodologies (Delphi, scenario planning)
- Strong network within Silicon Valley innovation ecosystems
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Published thought leadership in technology journals or industry forums
- Fluency in agile and lean innovation frameworks
