Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive AI ethics frameworks for autonomous systems and decision-making algorithms
- Conduct bias audits and fairness assessments for large-scale ML models using statistical analysis tools
- Lead stakeholder workshops to translate ethical principles into actionable engineering guidelines
- Author white papers and position papers on emerging AI governance challenges for 2026
- Partner with product teams to embed ethical reviews into CI/CD pipelines and design processes
- Monitor regulatory developments (NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act) and advise on compliance strategies
- Mentor junior researchers and foster cross-disciplinary ethics education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Ethics, Philosophy, Cognitive Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years applied AI ethics experience with production machine learning systems
- Expertise in bias mitigation techniques for large-scale ML models (fairness metrics, adversarial debiasing)
- Strong background in regulatory frameworks (GDPR, NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act)
- Published research in top-tier venues (NeurIPS, ICML, FAccT) or equivalent industry impact
- Proficiency in Python/R for bias analysis and statistical modeling
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex ethical concepts to technical teams
- Portfolio demonstrating real-world AI ethics implementations or policy contributions
