Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop quantum error correction codes to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Lead hybrid quantum-classical framework integration for enterprise applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize qubit coherence times and gate fidelities
- Author peer-reviewed publications and secure DOE/NIST research grants
- Mentor quantum engineering interns and lead cross-functional innovation sprints
- Establish industry partnerships with Fortune 500 quantum adoption initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum information theory or topological quantum computing
- Expertise in quantum error correction protocols (surface codes, color codes)
- Proficiency with superconducting qubit platforms or trapped ion systems
- Demonstrated success in securing federal research grants (NSF, DOE)
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum state tomography
