Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical machine learning frameworks for real-world applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Secure $5M+ in government and industry research funding
- Mentor PhD candidates and publish 3+ high-impact papers annually
- Present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and other premier conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Expertise in quantum annealing, superconducting qubits, or topological computing
- Strong background in linear algebra, group theory, and quantum information theory
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with experience in HPC environments
- Experience securing NSF/NIH grants or industry partnerships
