Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits using superconducting and photonic platforms
- Author peer-reviewed publications for Nature/Science journals and top quantum conferences
- Mentor PhD researchers in quantum information theory and computational complexity
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and control systems
- Identify commercial applications for quantum advantage in finance, materials science, and AI
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals on quantum algorithms
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, or Cirq) and simulation frameworks
- Hands-on experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, group theory, and information theory
- Proven track record of securing DoE/NSF grants or industry partnerships
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error mitigation techniques
