Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error correction protocols to enhance quantum coherence times
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors
- Lead open-source quantum software initiatives
- Publish research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure government grants and industry partnerships for quantum research
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments
- Experience with quantum hardware interfaces (Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra and probability theory
- US citizenship required for government contract work
