Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting and photonic systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure federal grants (NSF, DOE) and industry partnerships for quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD researchers and develop quantum computing curriculum for 2026 workforce
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (2020-2026 graduates encouraged)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and low-level quantum control systems
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or photonic quantum processors
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding ($1M+ preferred)
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum information theory, and complexity theory
