Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits on superconducting and photonic platforms
- Develop error mitigation techniques for fault-tolerant quantum computing systems
- Publish groundbreaking research in Nature/Science journals and top-tier conferences
- Secure $2M+ in government grants and industry partnerships
- Mentor a team of 3-5 quantum engineers and researchers
- Contribute to open-source quantum computing frameworks and standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years research experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum error correction protocols
- Strong programming skills in Python, Qiskit, and quantum simulation tools
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or photonic quantum processors
- Demonstrated ability to secure government research grants (NSF/DOE/DARPA)
- Deep understanding of quantum machine learning and quantum advantage applications
