Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for complex optimization problems
- Develop error correction protocols to enhance qubit stability in NISQ-era systems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning applications for 2026+ use cases
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and control systems
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at top-tier conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF, DoE, and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and drive cross-functional innovation
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantum field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with superconducting or trapped-ion systems
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and gate-level optimization
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science/IEEE journals
- Demonstrated experience with quantum simulation frameworks (Quil, Qiskit Aer)
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Clearance for sensitive government/commercial projects preferred
