Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for fault-tolerant computing systems
- Simulate quantum hardware behavior using advanced modeling frameworks
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize qubit connectivity and error correction
- Lead quantum security protocols for post-quantum cryptography standards
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum machine learning applications
- Secure $5M+ in DoE/NIST research grants for quantum initiatives
- Present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and ACM conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (post-doc preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum simulators (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with quantum algorithm implementation
- Experience with quantum hardware calibration protocols
- Strong background in quantum information theory and linear algebra
- Clearance for DoE quantum research initiatives (or ability to obtain)
