Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop error-corrected qubit architectures
- Lead cross-functional projects with physicists, software engineers, and domain experts
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in government grants and corporate partnerships
- Mentor PhD interns and junior researchers in quantum mechanics principles
- Translate theoretical models into practical quantum applications for healthcare and logistics
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in quantum circuit design and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, statistical mechanics, and information theory
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum platforms
- Track record of securing federal research grants (NSF, DARPA)
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
