Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental research on quantum hardware systems including superconducting qubits and ion traps
- Develop error-correction protocols and fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Publish groundbreaking research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure external research funding through NSF, DOE, and industry partnerships
- Translate theoretical quantum models into practical software implementations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoctoral experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Hands-on experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, or similar)
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra, probability, and complex systems
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with quantum simulation frameworks
