Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for real-world applications in AI, finance, and biotechnology
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-corrected quantum systems with 99.9% fidelity
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and present at global quantum computing conferences
- Optimize quantum circuits for hybrid classical-quantum computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into functional quantum processors
- Secure and manage multi-million dollar research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of industry experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing research
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and quantum circuit optimization
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in machine learning and classical-quantum hybrid systems
- Experience with cloud quantum computing platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket)
- Ability to secure competitive research funding and manage complex projects
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
