About the Role: This hybrid position offers the opportunity to shape humanity's technological future while working in our state-of-the-art San Francisco lab. Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for cryptography optimization and machine learning acceleration
- Design and implement error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate quantum processors with classical computing infrastructure
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at international quantum conferences
- Secure $5M+ in research funding through NSF and DARPA proposals
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish industry partnerships with quantum hardware startups
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years of industry experience
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit) and circuit optimization
- Proven track record of leading quantum computing projects with hardware integration
- Strong background in cryogenic systems and superconducting qubit manipulation
- Experience securing government research grants and managing $3M+ budgets
- Deep understanding of quantum supremacy benchmarks and NISQ-era limitations
