Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems in logistics, cryptography, and AI
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and data scientists in prototype development
- Secure $2M+ in annual research funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Publish findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Develop commercialization pathways for quantum machine learning applications
- Maintain quantum system integrity through error correction protocols and benchmarking
- Advise C-suite on quantum strategy alignment with 2026 technological roadmap
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Proven track record of publishing top-tier quantum research papers
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Deep understanding of NISQ-era limitations and fault-tolerant transition strategies
- Strong Python/C++ skills with HPC optimization experience
- Experience securing federal research grants ($500K+ awards)
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts to non-technical stakeholders
