Responsibilities
- Analyze medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to coding.
- Assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes to diagnoses and procedures.
- Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems with precision and efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA privacy and security standards.
- Perform regular audits of medical records to identify discrepancies.
- Collaborate with billing and nursing staff to resolve documentation issues.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Health Information Technology or related field.
- Certification as RHIT, RHIA, or CRC preferred.
- Proven experience with EHR software (Epic, Cerner, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
