- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives for emerging tech including neuromorphic computing and synthetic biology
- Develop strategic partnerships with academic institutions and quantum research labs
- Present future-tech forecasts to C-suite executives and Board of Directors
- Establish innovation KPIs and ROI frameworks for experimental technologies
- Mentor a team of 8-12 engineers and futurists in cutting-edge development
- Secure and manage $5M+ annual R&D budget for experimental projects
Qualifications
- 15+ years in technology strategy with 5+ years focused on emerging tech (quantum/AI/biotech)
- Proven track record of launching enterprise-scale future-tech initiatives
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Physics, or Systems Engineering
- Deep expertise in quantum computing architecture and AI governance frameworks
- Exceptional strategic planning and stakeholder management skills
- Experience securing federal/state innovation grants (DARPA, NSF, etc.)
- Published thought leadership in IEEE or Nature journals
- Fluency in Python, TensorFlow, and quantum programming languages (Qiskit)
