Responsibilities
- Develop 3-5 year strategic technology roadmaps aligned with market disruption forecasts for 2026
- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives in quantum computing, neural interfaces, and climate tech
- Establish partnerships with frontier research labs (MIT Media Lab, CERN, etc.)
- Conduct horizon scanning and scenario planning for emerging technology risks/opportunities
- Mentor a team of futurists and technology architects
- Present strategic insights to C-suite and board of directors quarterly
- Manage $5M+ innovation portfolio for experimental technology incubation
Qualifications
- 15+ years experience in technology strategy with 5+ years in emerging tech forecasting
- PhD in Computer Science, Physics, or related field or equivalent breakthrough achievements
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Proven track record of commercializing futuristic technologies (e.g., led AI scaling or quantum adoption)
- Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, synthetic biology, neuromorphic engineering
- Experience with scenario planning frameworks (e.g., Shell's methodology)
- Global network of technology pioneers and research institution affiliations
