- Conduct horizon scanning to identify emerging technologies with transformative potential
- Develop strategic partnerships with academic institutions and industry pioneers
- Present innovation frameworks to C-suite executives and investors
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of experimental thinking
- Secure and manage R&D budgets exceeding $5M annually
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology innovation or R&D leadership with proven track record of scaling breakthrough products
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging technology domains (quantum computing, synthetic biology, neuromorphic AI)
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Experience securing and managing multi-million dollar R&D budgets
- Strong network within Silicon Valley's tech ecosystem and academic institutions
- Published research or patents in emerging technologies
- Exceptional strategic communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts
