Responsibilities
- Develop and implement ethical governance frameworks for AI systems using NIST AI Risk Management Framework
- Conduct bias audits and fairness assessments across machine learning pipelines
- Design explainability protocols for high-stakes AI decision-making systems
- Advise product teams on ethical implications of AI deployment strategies
- Create compliance documentation for evolving federal AI regulations
- Lead stakeholder workshops on responsible AI adoption with industry partners
- Monitor emerging ethical challenges in generative AI and autonomous systems
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Philosophy, Ethics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 3+ years experience in AI ethics, algorithmic auditing, or responsible tech roles
- Expertise in bias detection techniques and fairness metrics (e.g., disparate impact analysis)
- Familiarity with global AI regulations (EU AI Act, US AI Bill of Rights)
- Proficiency in Python with experience in ML interpretability libraries (SHAP, LIME)
- Strong background in ethical frameworks (utilitarianism, deontology, virtue ethics)
- Published research in AI ethics or adjacent field preferred
