Responsibilities
- Lead quantum research initiatives targeting 2026 breakthrough milestones in error correction and scalability
- Develop and implement quantum algorithms with practical applications for cryptography and optimization
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to design next-generation quantum processors
- Secure $5M+ in research grants and partnerships with government/academic institutions
- Present findings at premier quantum conferences and publish in Nature/Science journals
- Manage cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and computer scientists
- Establish industry standards for quantum security protocols post-quantum cryptography era
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 8+ years research experience
- Published work in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, PRL) on quantum error correction
- Proven track record securing federal research grants (NSF, DOE, DARPA)
- Expertise in quantum algorithms, cryptography, and hardware-software co-design
- Experience leading R&D teams with 15+ direct reports
- Deep knowledge of quantum annealing and superconducting qubit technologies
- Strong patent portfolio with 5+ quantum computing patents
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to C-suite executives and policymakers
